RAPID PROTOTYPES

Transforming designs into rapid prototypes with full geometry requires the use of sophisticated manufacturing technologies like stereolithography (SLA) and selective laser sintering (SLS). Aphase II maintains both levels of this state-of-the-art capability. Both technologies produce solid, three-dimensional part replicas. SLA uses a layer additive manufacturing process that appliers ultraviolet lasers to cure liquid plastic resins. SLS makes models from a heated powdered plastic, and a laser creates each layer by fusing the particles together. And when more plastic-like materials are desired, Aphase II can apply RTV silicone rubber tooling to cast urethane models. Specific process selection depends on customer’s needs with respect to part complexity and urgency. These modeling capabilities allow Aphase II to produce rapid prototype models for metal and plastic parts that can range in size from 32-in x 22-in. x 20-in.
